How you will contribute

• Evaluate and provide insights on BCR's sustainability initiatives, policies, and performance, contributing to sustainability reporting and the creation of new sustainability objectives;
• Provide ESG expertise and support for BCR projects and initiatives, including knowledge of relevant regulations and frameworks (Taxonomy Regulation, PCAF methodology, SBTi, CSRD, ESRS, EU Taxonomy), and contribute to defining ESG data attributes;
• Contribute to the development, implementation, and monitoring of BCR's Sustainability Strategy, aligning it with business goals and regulatory requirements, and defining key performance indicators (KPIs);
• Develop, maintain, and ensure alignment with industry best practices for sustainability-related policies, procedures, and guidelines across the bank's operations, lending practices, investments, and procurement;
• Integrate sustainability considerations into the decision-making processes, products, and services of various business units, and assess and mitigate environmental, social, and governance (ESG) risks associated with BCR's activities;
• Research and benchmark BCR's sustainability performance, identify best practices, and monitor emerging environmental and social regulations and industry standards (e.g., TCFD, SFDR, EU Taxonomy);
• Develop and implement ESG due diligence processes for potential borrowers and investments, utilize ESG scoring systems, and identify opportunities for sustainable finance product development (e.g., green loans, sustainability-linked loans);
• Engage with clients to promote sustainable business practices, assess, and improve supply chain sustainability, and manage stakeholder communication regarding BCR's sustainability initiatives and performance;
• Support internal communication and training on sustainability topics, contribute to public relations and investor relations efforts related to ESG, and develop and maintain an Environmental Management System (EMS);
• Promote employee engagement in sustainability initiatives, involved in measuring the bank's carbon footprint and developing reduction strategies, ensure compliance with environmental and social regulations, and support internal and external audits of sustainability performance;
• Responsible for Sustainability Reports.

What will help you be successful

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Economics, Finance, Law, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field;
• Demonstrated experience in the sustainability field, preferably within the banking or financial services domain;
• Strong understanding of banking products and services;
• Excellent knowledge of ESG frameworks, standards, and reporting guidelines (e.g., GRI, SASB, TCFD, SFDR, CSRD, ESRS, EU Taxonomy);
• Experience in developing and implementing sustainability strategies;
• Proven analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and regulations;
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate sustainability concepts to diverse audiences;
• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams;
• Proactive, collaborative, and adaptable approach to work;
• Advanced English skills (written and spoken);
• Relevant certifications (e.g., GRI Certified Professional, ESRS) are a plus;
• Project management skills
