In Credit Risk Portfolio we monitor the development of Erste Group’s loan portfolio with a specific focus on corporate clients in our core AT and CEE markets. Our department performs active steering and constantly develops and improves its credit risk data infrastructure in order to deliver reliable processes and further drive digitalization and efficiency.

Your Tasks

  • Actively contribute to data science initiatives in the areas of automation and generative AI on Databricks. 
  • Design, build, and maintain graph‑based data models in Neo4j applied to real‑time reporting, steering and analytical applications, and the transparent modeling of complex relationships. 
  • Demonstrate a strong interest in data, emerging technologies, and AI, along with a solid understanding of key regulatory principles governing the use of big data and AI solutions (e.g. the EU AI Act) in the banking sector. 
  • Clearly communicate proposed solutions and key findings to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders, ensuring transparency and shared understanding. 
  • Possess a strong understanding of banking processes, with a particular focus on risk management and the relevant IT platforms used for implementation. 

Your Background

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with a focus on quantitative field with at least 2 years of experience as a data scientist/engineer or in an analytical role. 
  • Understanding of the banking industry with a focus on risk management. 
  • Demonstrated experience with extracting business insights from data, deploying automations, and AI systems. 
  • Hands-on experience  with Databricks, Graph databases (like Neo4j), and Large Language Models (LLM). 
  • Solid programming skills (Python, Spark, Cypher and SQL), familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g. Power BI), version control systems (e.g. GitHub) and cloud platforms (e.g. Azure). 
  • Strong communication skills and ability to translate complex topics into non-technical language.

  • The minimum wage for this full-time position in accordance with the collective agreement with complete fulfillment of the functional profile is EUR 46.276,58 gross per year. But this is just a formality - we would be happy to talk about your actual salary in person!
