More than 500 employees develop and manage investment solutions for our investors in 7 different countries. We launched the first environmental fund in Austria more than 25 years ago - at a time when the topic was still a niche. Today, we manage more than EUR 46 billion in sustainability (as of 01.06.2026) and place sustainability at the heart of our business activities.

Department Description

As a Business Manager, you work at the intersection of investment management, performance controlling, project management and governance. You support the Chief Investment Officer (CIO) in translating strategic priorities into concrete initiatives, processes and decisions and help connect the needs of the Investment Division with the broader organization.

The role offers a broad perspective on asset management: from monitoring investment performance and steering cross-functional projects to developing processes, coordinating activities across Austria and CEE and contributing directly to the investment process.

Your Tasks

  • Monitor investment performance across EAM's fund range and external fund managers, identify relevant performance or cost developments and coordinate appropriate follow-up measures
  • Prepare and coordinate regular performance reviews and management information for the Investment Division
  • Manage and steer cross-functional projects covering business, regulatory, process and IT-related topics and support the CIO in company-wide initiatives
  • Contribute to the development of governance structures and investment processes, translate new requirements into practical processes and communicate them across the organization
  • Strengthen collaboration across EAM's Austrian and CEE investment teams and support the integration and further development of group-wide investment processes
  • Coordinate key divisional activities, including budget planning, management meetings and decision-making forums, and work closely with colleagues from Risk, Sales, Product Solutions, Communications and other functions
  • Support the further development of the Investment Division's organizational and functional setup, including workforce planning, selection processes and the monitoring of relevant quantitative KPIs
  • Build expertise in one or more major asset classes and contribute market and sector insights to investment discussions and key initiatives

Your Background

  • A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science or a comparable field; a Master's degree is preferred
  • An analytical and structured working style combined with strong organizational skills, the ability to keep an overview of several topics at the same time and a hands on mentality is key
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to structure complex topics, coordinate different stakeholders and drive initiatives from concept to implementation
  • Around 1–3 years of professional experience in the asset management industry or a comparable financial-services environment is an advantage
  • A good understanding of financial markets, investment products and financial and economic theory
  • Experience with performance controlling, product management or investment-related analysis is relevant for this role
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, including the confidence to moderate meetings or workshops and communicate complex topics clearly to different audiences
  • A collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively with investment professionals, management and colleagues across different functions and locations
  • The role requires a high level of data literacy and the ability to work effectively with modern AI tools. Candidates do not need to be professional programmers; however, they should be able to quickly solve problems with the help of AI, use relevant software tools, and create simple programs or scripts where necessary. A basic understanding of programming concepts and experience with at least one programming language are advantageous
