You will join the Corporates & Markets & International Banks Communications team, driving strategic communications for Erste Group’s Corporates & Markets business and its international network. As part of Group Communications & Corporate Affairs, you will help shape and implement Erste Group’s public positioning.

 

In your role as Communications Expert, you will manage 360° communications across internal, external, and social channels, with a clear focus on strengthening Erste Group’s profile in top-tier financial and capital markets media. You will ensure Erste’s expertise in corporate banking, commercial real estate, macroeconomic research, and capital markets topics is consistently visible and well positioned, leading both proactive and reactive media engagement.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Media Relations & Press Engagement
    Build and maintain strong relationships with leading financial, trade, and capital markets media.  Handle daily incoming media inquiries, prepare statements, and support crisis communications where needed. 
  • 360° Communications for Capital Markets & Corporate Banking 
    Translate complex capital markets, FX, research, corporate banking, and investment topics into clear, engaging narratives and communicate them across press, internal, external, and social media channels. Track market developments and spot opportunities to position Erste experts as authoritative voices in relevant media, conferences, and industry events.
  • Content Development & Messaging
    Draft press releases, Q&As, briefing documents, and media-ready materials, social media postings and internal news. Collaborate with social media, intranet and other teams to extend visibility across multiple channels.
  • International Coordination
    Support alignment of communication efforts across Erste’s international banking network. Working closely with communications teams across Central Europe, support coordinated messaging and elevate Erste’s profile in the international financial press.

Your Background & Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in media relations, journalism or PR – ideally in a financial institution or PR/communications agency supporting financial clients.
  • Strong understanding of capital markets, financial products, corporate and investment banking with the ability to translate technical information for varying media audiences.
  • Demonstrated success building relationships with financial and trade media; familiarity with international media dynamics.
  • Exceptional writing skills and the ability to create clear, accurate, media-ready communication materials.
  • Fluency in English is required. German or another Central European language is an advantage.

  • The minimum wage for this full-time position in accordance with the collective agreement with complete fulfillment of the functional profile is EUR 49.772,80 gross per year. But this is just a formality - we would be happy to talk about your actual salary in person!
