Department Description

Compliance @ Erste Asset Management is an independent 2nd Line of Defence. We ensure Erste AM and its CEE subsidiaries comply with all regulatory, legal, and internal requirements. As the EAM Group’s compliance hub for CEE, we advise leaders and teams, and monitor key areas such as Regulatory Compliance, Conflicts of Interest, and Sanctions & Financial Crime; coverage of Securities Compliance and AML/CTF.

 

The function offers Compliance‑related advice to management and employees and performs ongoing monitoring to ensure adherence across key areas such as Securities Compliance, AML/CTF, Sanctions & Financial Crime, Conflicts of Interest, and Regulatory Compliance. It conducts desk reviews, serves as the primary interface to Erste Group Compliance, acts as the main contact point for regulatory authorities, manages statutory reporting obligations (including §15 InvFG), and coordinates Compliance and AML training programs.”

Your Tasks

  • Independently conduct desk reviews, including critical assessment of processes and evaluation of regulatory compliance
  • Continuously follow up on implemented measures and evaluate their effectiveness
  • Prepare clear, well‑structured reports and present key findings to the Management Board and Supervisory Board
  • Maintain and enhance a systematic compliance risk analysis to identify potential vulnerabilities across the business
  • Support daily Compliance operations by handling ad‑hoc inquiries and representing Compliance in internal working groups
  • Update and maintain local compliance policies in line with legal requirements and group-wide standards
  • Act as a trusted advisor to internal departments on a wide range of compliance-related topics

Your Background

  • Professional experience in a compliance‑related environment, ideally in asset management, investment firms, regulatory bodies, audit or internal audit
  • Basic understanding of securities processes (e.g., trading workflows, settlement, custody) and interest in capital markets regulation (e.g., InvFG, AIFMG, MiFID II); deeper expertise is an advantage but not required
  • Strong analytical capabilities paired with a structured and solution‑oriented working style
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, team‑focused mindset
  • Very strong command of German and English, both spoken and written
