The department Audit Central Services is responsible for performing audits in Erste Group Bank AG, its subsidiaries, and Austrian legal entities part of the Erste Group. A second responsibility is the coordination of audit activities within Erste Group for the audit area of responsibility. To strengthen our team, we are searching for an auditor with data analytics skills and with a passion for analysis, math, and statistics. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to communicate technical results to business stakeholders are essential.
Your Tasks
- Conduct data-driven analyses to support audit engagements by understanding the underlying banking processes, assessing relevant risks, and designing and executing appropriate data analytics tests
- Participation to the Data Analytics Expert Group across entities and SPOCs (audit departments, CEE banks and subsidiaries audit functions)
- Support complex data use cases from idea to implementation (data sourcing, feasibility, methods)
- Review and validate data analyses developed by others (data quality, methods, reproducibility)
- Act as technical reference for data analytics topics towards business auditors, supporting and enhancing data analytics knowledge within the department
- Implement automations of standard data-driven audit processes (Fraud analysis, Continuous monitoring)
- Maintain and evolve shared analytics assets (repositories, templates, examples)
Your Background
- Minimum 5 years of experience leveraging data analytics in a control, risk, or assurance environment (preferably in Internal Audit or other control function)
- University degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) or a related discipline
- Strong experience in data analytics, including SQL, Python, ETL processes, and the development of reproducible analytical solutions
- Experience applying statistical and analytical methods for pattern detection, anomaly identification, and data-driven insights
- Familiarity with modern analytics, visualization, and AI-enabled tools (e.g., Databricks, Tableau, chatbots, or agents); knowledge of data modelling concepts is an advantage
- Strong communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences; and additional language skills (German and/or CEE languages) are an advantage

- The minimum wage for this full-time position in accordance with the collective agreement with complete fulfillment of the functional profile is EUR 51,336.04 gross per year. But this is just a formality - we would be happy to talk about your actual salary in person!
