The audit department Markets and Central Functions is responsible for performing audits in Erste Group Bank AG, its subsidiaries, and Austrian legal entities part of the Erste Group. A second responsibility is the coordination of audit activities within Erste Group for the audit area of responsibility. To strengthen our team, we are searching for an auditor with data analytics skills and with a passion for analysis and identification of gaps or inconsistencies. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to communicate technical results to business stakeholders are essential.
Your Tasks
- Contribute to the functional coordination of the Payments & AML Expert Groups across entities and SPOCs (audit departments, CEE banks, and subsidiary audit functions)
- Support complex data analytics use cases from idea to implementation, including data sourcing, feasibility assessments, and methodological design
- Implement automations of standard data-driven audit processes, such as fraud analysis and audit procedures on large datasets including payment transactions, AML alerts, and client risk data, leveraging anomaly detection, pattern analysis, and control validation techniques
- Develop and enhance data-driven audit procedures and analytics capabilities for the focus areas of Payments and AML
- Provide technical guidance on the use of data analytics in Internal Audit, helping to define standards, best practices, and shared audit methodologies across the Group
- Perform internal audits focusing on Payments and AML as part of the Group Audit team in Austria and in collaboration with colleagues across Erste Group subsidiaries
Your Background
- Minimum 5 years working experience in internal audit using data analytics (or a comparable control or assurance environment)
- University degree in Economics, IT, Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics
- Experience applying statistical methods for pattern detection and anomaly identification
- Familiarity with Financial Institutions in the area of Payments and AML controls, knowledge of regulatory frameworks of advantage
- Familiarity with IT systems used in modern payments processing as well as modern analytics platforms such as Databricks of advantage
- Strong communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences

- The minimum wage for this full-time position in accordance with the collective agreement with complete fulfillment of the functional profile is EUR 51.336,04 gross per year. But this is just a formality - we would be happy to talk about your actual salary in person!
