Department Description

Group and AT Data and AI Governance team, is a department located within the Group & AT Data Management area at Erste Group.

The Group AI Governance Team ensures that AI systems across Erste Group are developed and used responsibly, transparently, and in compliance with internal and external requirements. The team defines governance frameworks and review processes, supports AI risk assessments, and works with key stakeholders to evaluate AI use cases. As a central governance function, it identifies risks and control gaps, provides recommendations, and supports informed decision-making throughout the AI lifecycle.

Your Tasks:

• Support the assessment and governance of AI use cases, including generative AI and LLM solutions.

• Identify and document AI-related risks, control gaps and compliance requirements.

• Contribute to AI Governance policies, standards, and assessment frameworks.

• Prepare reports, presentations, and governance documentation for stakeholders.

• Participate in reviews, workshops, and initiatives promoting responsible AI adoption.

Your Background:

• Ongoing studies in computer science, data science, AI, business informatics, or a related field.

• Strong knowledge of AI, machine learning, generative AI, LLMs, and responsible AI.

• Hands-on experience with Python and data analysis; additional AI tooling experience is a plus.

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess technical solutions, risks, and controls.

• Interest in AI governance, AI risk management, and regulatory requirements (e.g., EU AI Act).

• Exciting and challenging internship for 6 months full-time (38,5h/week) or 12 months part-time (19,25h/week) starting in February 2027.
