Department Description

As Legal Specialist, you will act as a trusted legal advisor for different internal functions. The focus of the role is on business-facing legal support and operational capital markets matters. You will collaborate with colleagues across Erste Group and, where required, support subsidiaries and savings banks on relevant legal matters.

We are looking for a motivated legal professional to join the Regulatory Advisory & Markets Legal department as a temporary replacement during maternity leave, limited until November 2028.

Your Tasks

• Provide legal advice to internal stakeholders on capital markets, treasury, market infrastructure, clearing, settlement and custody related legal matters
• Support legal assessments of trading, sales, market access, clearing and settlement arrangements and related business initiatives
• Advise on treasury and capital markets products and processes, including participation in product approval processes
• Draft, review and negotiate contracts with service providers, vendors, market infrastructures and data providers
• Provide legal support regarding depositary, custody and related banking services activities
• Coordinate with external counsel, business partners, market infrastructures and other external stakeholders where required

Your Background

• Master's degree in Law (Mag. iur., Dr. iur.), LL.M. or additional international legal education is an advantage)
• At least 3 years of professional legal experience in a financial institution, law firm or comparable corporate legal environment
• Sound knowledge of capital markets law, financial markets infrastructure, treasury activities and/or banking operations
• Experience in drafting and negotiating commercial and financial sector related contracts
• Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to explain complex legal topics in a practical and business-oriented manner
• Fluent English; German is an advantage

• The minimum wage for this full-time position in accordance with the collective agreement with complete fulfillment of the functional profile is EUR 51.336,-- gross per year. But this is just a formality - we would be happy to talk about your actual salary in person!
