Group Prudential Affairs acts as group-wide competence center and advises all Erste Group members (in particular Erste Group Bank AG, Erste Bank der oesterreichischen Sparkassen AG, Austrian Savings Banks) on bank regulatory and legislative matters.
The department supports and coordinates the activities of Erste Group members towards the supervisory authorities. Its responsibilities include managing supervisory procedures such as regulatory inquiries, investigations, on-site inspections, and administrative criminal matters. It also oversees all topics with regulatory implications, ensuring effective steering, coordination, and monitoring of supervisory-related activities across the Group. Additionally, the department offers legal services in banking and securities regulation law, coordinates the Group’s positions on regulatory issues, and communicates these positions to both internal and external stakeholders (European associations, the ECB, European Commission, EBA, ESMA, BMF, FMA, OeNB, WKÖ, etc.). Furthermore, it monitors and tracks the development of new regulatory standards.

Your Tasks

  • Coordinate and monitor supervisory related activities within Erste Group
  • Act as internal and external contact person for regulatory affairs (e.g. approval processes, inquiries, on-site-inspections, etc.) on national, international and cross-border level and represent the Group towards external stakeholders
  • Participate in internal projects with regulatory and legislative matters
  • Represent the interests of the Group in different internal and external expert committees
  • Support in the field of banking and securities law: interpretation of existing and forthcoming legislation
  • Provide professional support concerning the implementation of legal provisions (especially banking and securities law)

Your Background

  • A master's degree in (Austrian or International) law or business administration or any other equivalent education
  • Minimum three years of professional experience in the field of bank regulatory and legislative matters because of previous working experience in a Supervisory Authority or in the banking and/or securities sector
  • Broad knowledge in national and/or international banking and/or securities law (BWG, WAG, CRD, CRR, …) as well as profound knowledge of the legal framework and requirements
  • Analytical thinking, organizational and negotiation skills, willingness to take responsibility and initiative, commitment and flexibility
  • Fluent in German and English

  • The minimum wage for this full-time position in accordance with the collective agreement with complete fulfillment of the functional profile is EUR 49.772,80 gross per year. But this is just a formality - we would be happy to talk about your actual salary in person!
